AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Australian Anglo-Indian stories compiled and edited by Bernadette Earle. The Indian Summer captures the now almost extinct culture of the Anglo Indian diaspora, many of whom eventually settled in Australia. This book is a fascinating historical perspective on the lifestyles and experiences of Anglo-Indians during a period of an emerging modern India. It also commands a touching human element, evident through a rich collection of stories, anecdotes and poems offered by Anglo- Indians who have migrated to Australia.

'The foreword, written by The Hon Philip Ruddock MP Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs offers a superb insight into a book that brings to life a now lost period of Indian and British history.' (Publication summary)
