BiographyHistory

Allan Vizents was a performance poet. He initially worked with the Perth collective 'Media Space', before moving to Sydney, where he directed the group 'Performance Space'. During the 1980s he staged a number of events at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the Performance Space gallery, Sydney, and also in Brisbane.

A biographic source for Vizents states that he 'arrived in Perth Western Australia in October 1978', however, it is not known whether he spent time in Australia prior to this date. (Source: Vizents Non Parables: Allan Vizents Performance Texts 1982-86, 1990)
