BiographyHistory

Mason grew up in New Zealand near Hastings. He joined the Air Force and also lived in Wellington. In 1949 he moved to Australia, living in Brisbane then Sydney. He was a journalist, wharfie, signwriter and worked for some years at the University of Sydney Library. In his novel Homestead (2001) Mason is described as having written seven other novels, but only The Last Enemy (1976) has been traced.
