'The shadowy, enigmatic Eddie Dart, Australian mystery, in all his guises. Armed with his dart gun and then with his echidna ring, he saves lives. Of course, even with the ability to stun your enemies, it's not easy being Eddie. You tend to get shot at a lot, with live ammo, even by your friends. Still, there's the long lost Dijara people whose connection with the Aboriginal Dreamtime provides him with his echidna spirit.

Each chapter of 20th Century Dart plunges Eddie into the sort of danger only a pulp hero could possibly get into or possibly get out of. Each chapter touches upon something essential to the 20th Century, such as American costumed heroes like True American, and British spooks like Reginald Wood, which made it a unique time in which to fight, love, protest against killing one's fellow man, raise a family and find some way to save the environment.'
