BiographyHistory

Rosalie Hancorn Ambrose was eighteen years old when, in 1827 at Ipswich in England, she married Captain Robert Lind Hare, Master of the East Indian ship Caroline of Calcutta and immediately accompanied him on a chartered voyage to Van Diemen's Land and Batavia.
