BiographyHistory

'David Garrioch did his first degree at the University of Melbourne and his doctorate at Oxford University. He teaches history at Monash University, where he has served as Associate Dean (Teaching) in the Faculty of Arts and as Head of the School of Historical Studies. He has been a Visiting Fellow at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, and has written on eighteenth-century Paris, on the Enlightenment, and on themes in urban social and religious history.'
