'Every night, same time, same pigeon crash lands in my room.
At first I think it’s dead, But then it starts talking.

'A homing pigeon with no sense of direction becomes the unlikely saviour of a young girl up against her first encounter with heartbreak.

'Rose’s life has been turned upside down. She seems to be getting through it ok, except at night when her dream life is taken over by a mouthy homing pigeon that claims to be her subconscious.

'The last thing Rose wants is to be put through a psychological boot camp by a bossy rat with wings, but the bird’s intentions are good. It is there to help Rose to prepare for a new world order. It knows her Dad is not coming home.

'Rosieville is a universal story about getting back up after a blow to the heart. It is a homage to the instinct, loyalty, stamina and grit of homing pigeons who, despite countless obstacles and long distances, always manage to find their way home.' (Production summary)

1 y separately published work icon How to Vote Julian Larnach , 2022 Strawberry Hills : Currency Press , 2022 26061353 2022 single work drama

'I’m addicted. I’m sick. I’ve been diagnosed, I’ve got all the symptoms and no amount of medicine or bed-rest is going to stop me from getting what I want, getting more of what I want, getting all of what I want. Power. REAL POWER.
Election season is upon us! When the incumbent President of the University Student Council mysteriously steps down, new players must enter the arena. But behind the three-word slogans and non-core promises lies an underbelly of secret deals and divided loyalties, corruption and ambition; all designed to win the hearts and minds of the student body.

''Following an entire election cycle within a prestigious university, How To Vote! explores the treacherous political landscape of campus life, and what happens when you put the word ‘student’ before journalism, politics and theatre' (Publication summary)

1 y separately published work icon The Initiation Cathy Petocz , 2022 Strawberry Hills : Currency Press , 2022 24738367 2022 single work drama

'There’s a place in the bush balanced between stone, sky, water.
Past starts sending ancient light.
You’ll find what you need for the initiation and you will come out changed.

'A double-dare draws six seemingly normal teenagers into the twilight bush of Black Mountain. As night falls and time keeps shifting around, they realise they are lost. When a knife keeps turning up, despite their efforts to get rid of it, they fear they’ll never come out alive.

'The Initiation is about the horrors of the early teen experience; that uncanny period between childhood and fully becoming an adult, and the scary things you feel you have to do to get through. Exploring teen horror movie tropes, real teen experiences, and the deeply spiritual site of Black Mountain, The Initiation asks us to find our way to the core of our fears in order to discover where the real threat lies.

'The Initiation is a new play written and developed with young artists from Canberra Youth Theatre.' (Production summary)

1 Collapse Grace de Morgan , 2019 single work drama

'Collapse is a new work that speaks to a concern that impacts us all – how we act when we are on the brink of collapse.

'Through the personal experiences of six young people in Canberra, Collapse explores the factors that have contributed to the destruction of civilisations past and the challenges that threaten our society today.

'What will be the final tipping point? Nuclear warfare. Over-population. Ecological degradation. Poor leadership.

'How do we respond when everything feels like it is spiralling out of control, and can we prevent it from falling apart?'

1 1 The Verbatim Project Canberra Youth Theatre Company , 2016 single work drama

'Verbatim theatre is a style that is current and relevant in the theatrical world as we choose more and more to explore real stories and real people. Teens and older members of society are two groups who are often marginalised purely on account of their age and this work will find connections between them. There are certain generalisations that are assumed about these age groups, and this project intends to bring those to light, exploring how true they are. It will also delve into the differences between these two groups but more so the similarities, possibly making the discovery that as human beings, maybe we all just want the same thing.'

The Verbatim Project will be devised around recorded interviews with all participants, with the material in the final piece presented theatrically through audio, video and live work.' (Source: Ainslie + Gorman Centres website)
