BiographyHistory

Barbara Ross studied at Manchester University graduating with Honours in English Literature and Language. She followed up her interest in history by undertaking an archives course at University College, London. Ross worked as a medievalist, as an archivist and as an historical researcher. She moved to Australia with her family in 1957 staying briefly in Melbourne and then settling in Canberra.

Ross worked at the Australian National University Archives where she discovered information, and undertook research, on the novelist Dorothy Cottrell (q.v.). She later worked at the Australian National Library.
