BiographyHistory

Una (Jean) Clarke was a Junior nurse at Kate Cocks Home in South Australia and later became a Methodist Missionary. She was cottage mother at Croker Island Mission in the Northern Territory from 1955 to 1964 but left Croker after illnes to work at Kate Cocks. Clarke studied Social Work while working at the Department of Aboriginal Affairs from 1966 to 1970. She was in charge of the fostering section and went on to work in the welfare section of the Welfare Department, before retiring in 1986.
