Agamani finds an older mentor, Kamesh, who teaches him the ways of being a mendicant mystical minstrel. Their journey takes them from a place close to the mouth of the river in West Bengal to a spot high in the Himalayas near the source of the Ganges. As they approach Gaumukh, the situation gets dire for the older of the two men, whose failing health threatens their existence and their quest to find Monkumar. Along their path to this crisis point, they travel to sacred places, meet remarkable people, participate in protests, witness miracles and attend the most auspicious of global spiritual events.'
