BiographyHistory

Vincent Read was an expert in numismatics - the study of coins and medals - and compiled the social history, The Silver Crown, or, The Romance of the Five-shilling Piece (1946?). He arrived in Queensland at the age of three, was educated privately and ran a book shop. Read established the Read Press Pty. Ltd., and compiled and published anthologies of poetry and prose.
