Woldemar Kikerist was born in Australia of an Estonian father and Anglo-Celtic mother. He gained a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Diploma of Education from Sydney University and a Diploma in Urban Studies from Macquarie University. Kikerist worked in high schools teaching Geography, Economics and Asian Studies and travelled widely in Japan, North Africa, Europe and the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
Kikerist composed music as well as poetry and was a sometime designer (for example, patenting an Australian national emblem). His poetry was published in periodicals such as Poetry and Paint (1979 and 1980), SCOPP (1979 and 1980), Bundeena People (1980) and Prints (1987). Kikerist was a member of the Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW), Manly Branch, New South Wales. His hobbies included surf-skiing, cycling, ten-pin and lawn bowling, and piano composition.
