BiographyHistory

Else Fagrell was born in Australia, but moved to the USA as a young child. However, her father imbued in her a deep love for Australia and she returned to the land of her birth on several occasions. A graduate of Stanford University, Fagrell was in turn a boookseller, head of the Children's Guild in San Francisco and a kindergarten teacher. She also spent some time in Sweden, where she married.
