BiographyHistory

American writer Edmond Seward was brought to Australia by film maker Ken G. Hall in 1935 to write the screenplay for the film Thoroughbred (q.v., 1936). He played Mr Terry in the film, from which his novel of the same name was derived. Hall also engaged Seward as writer for another Cinesound film, the 1937 feature Orphan of the Wilderness (aka Wild Innocence, USA). Seward soon afterwards returned to America.

In addition to these Australian-made films, Edmond Seward was also involved in the writing of at least seventeen other motion pictures in America between 1933 and 1952.
