BiographyHistory

Albert Sherbourne Le Souef, fourth son of Albert Alexander Cochrane and Caroline Le Souef, was a zoo director and scientist, as were his father and two of his older brothers. Albert was educated at Carlton College and the Melbourne Veterinary College. He lectured frequently and travelled widely.

He was a prolific contributor to journals and co-author with H.J. Burrell of The Wild Animals of Australasia (London 1926).
