Ivan Skracic-Bodul was born on the island of Murter in 1940 in what was then Yugoslavia. In 1960 he crossed the Adriatic to Italy where he was given political asylum and he came to Australia that same year. He has worked as a skilled carpenter and has published short stories and poetry in Australia and overseas.
