BiographyHistory

Dulcie Dunlop Ladds was an author of numerous short stories, poetry and plays. She set most of her stories in Queensland. She lived for some years with her husband Charles Ladds at Burleigh Heads on a banana plantation, which provided the subject matter for her most well-known play We Have Our Dreams.

  • Several reference sources including the Oxford Companion to Australian Literature give Ladds's birth date as 1972. Death notices and obituaries, including one in the Gold Coast Bulletin, 5 May 1970, p.4 confirm her death date as 1970.
