BiographyHistory

Colin Roderick, in Rose Paterson's Illalong Letters 1873 - 1888 descibed Rose Paterson as an "intelligent, industrious and devoted wife and mother, all of whose seven children survived childhood and grew to maturity." One of her seven children was A. B. 'Banjo' Paterson. Rose Paterson wrote letters to her family that gave a first-hand account of her life on an isolated Australian sheep station in the nineteenth century.
