BiographyHistory

From her book Love Under the Microwave (1991): 'Isobel Lacey was born in a South Australian country town in 1953 and came to Adelaide at the age of fourteen to widen her cultural horizons and to discover her fortune. It is no exaggeration to say that she found more than culture and that fortune consequently discovered her. Married at eighteen, divorced at nineteen, Isobel was led to a more adventurous lifestyle and became many a married man's play kitten. She survived and now, between eavesdropping on her friends' clandestine affairs and growing orchids, she is writing her Master's Thesis on the Rehabilitation of Infidels.'
