— Appears in: The Queenslander , 1 December 1937; (p. 5,36)
Things always go wrong for Joe Stunn on Thursdays. A carpet snake once frightened him in a chookhouse just as he was taking a rooster and he was shot in the buttocks with a shotgun. He works for a week for a neighbour and a pet sheep gets him into trouble, so he decides to steal it for meat. He succeeds but a young friend, thinking he is dead, calls in the police and he is caught with the meat. However, the farmer is delighted to be rid of the bad-tempered ram and pays Stunn for his efforts. The day is Thursday.
