Great-grand-daughter of Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar, who ruled Iran from 1848 until his assassination in 1896, Lily Izadi Monadjemi was educated in Iran, England and the United States. She has a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from the National University of Iran, and a Bachelor of Science in Social Welfare from the University of Southern Illinois.She has practiced in social work and lectured at universities. After migrating to Australia she worked as Marketing Executive at Federal Publishing, and Publishing Manager of the magazine Prevention. Monadjemi's first novel, Blood and Carnations (1993) was published in Australia. Her subsequent literary works have been published overseas and she now lives in Europe.
