'The Life and Times of Chester Lewis is a collection of 11 short stories, written in sequential order by 11 Australian authors with each author reading the preceding stories. Together, the stories chart the life of the title character, Chester Lewis, from the 1930s to the 2030s. The journey starts in 1931 Shanghai, China, where the British parents of the unborn Chester have moved to build Chester’s father’s career. When events take an unexpected turn, the future of Chester and the Lewis family is profoundly altered. Chester is born the following year in Perth, Australia, and so begins a century of great deeds and misdeeds, as we follow the life of Chester Lewis.'

Literature is used here as an inclusive term which embraces fictional writing in general.

The Australian Literature Review is dedicated to written fiction and the practical craft of writing fiction.

Whilst the primary emphasis is on Australian literature, there is room for literature set in Australia by international writers and for articles about international literature.

The Australian Literature Review is not a political advocacy group and does not claim to speak for Australian fiction writers.

The Australian Literature Review (sometimes shortened to auslit.net or AusLit) is not affiliated with other Australian literature organisations.' (Source: http://auslit.net/about/)
