BiographyHistory

George William James Hipgrave is the son of William Hipgrave (founder of the Armidale Express and New England General Advertiser). Hipgrave continued his father's work at the Armidale Express; following George Hipgrave's death, the newspaper was taken over by his son Percy Hipgrave.

Hipgrave is buried at Waverley Cemetery, Sydney (Grave 218 Church of England Select, Section 1).
