BiographyHistory

'Maxx Maxted was born in England into a middle class family. He dropped out of school at sixteen to study Graphic Design at the West of England College of Art' and later worked as an illustrator for a printing firm. Maxted also worked in theatre, music, fashion modelling, commercial art and retail.

Maxted migrated to Australia in 1969 and worked in various artistic pursuits including television and arts productions, set design, and as a teacher of painting.

Maxted has writtern poetry, plays, songs and short stories. 'Excerpts from his work The Saga of Jacks Pocket have been serialised in Nimbin Magazine and Beyond the Rainbow Literary Magazine where he was a contributing editor. Excerpts have also been printed in various anthologies, including four consecutive annual editions of Lismore City Council's Seniors' book'.
