The 'Blanket Girls' are Myra and Jane, implied to be spirits only Izzy can see. They bring her comfort, especially when she sees death. Izzy's mother dies when she's 18, leaving her to care for five-year-old Luke alone until his death.Interspersed with flashbacks to the Blanket Girls, Izzy attends the funeral of Luke, her brother with Down syndrome, waiting for the Blanket Girls to appear.
