BiographyHistory

Marina Montina escaped Sarajevo with her brother on the last coach leaving the city in April 1992, only hours before the city was beseiged. She received a visa for Britain, then came to Australia where she was granted permanant residency as an asylum seeker. She began writing poetry at age eleven, and returned to poetry for the collection Reality Bites. [From Reality Bites, p. 22]
