BiographyHistory

Wren came to Australia as manager of Heinemann's Australian office. During his time at Heinemann he nurtured authors such as Sir Frank Macfarlane Burnett, Ian Turner, R. S. Whitington and Barry Oakley. In 1970 Wren resigned and founded Wren Publishing. Despite a number of significant publishing successes, particularly with his children's list, the firm collapsed financially when a legal complication led to the pulping of one of its titles. After a period farming, Wren established a local newspaper and became involved with magazine publishing on Queensland's Gold Coast.
