'Woorre-Woorrem (Flying Fox) is a small community not far from the township of Kununurra in the East Kimberley Region of Western Australia. The Traditional Owners of these lands are the Miriwoong people, who founded the work of Mirima Dawang Woorlab-gerring Language and Culture Centre in order to revitalise and maintain their traditional language. This content of this book was developed by the late Elder and language Master Nancy Dilyai who dedicated much of her life to teaching her precious language and cultural heritage to young people. Her daughter and Apprentice Ingrid Ningarmara has recorded and written up the story of Woorre-Woorrem in Miriwoong and English, in her role as a language worker at the Language Centre. The authors wish that many people would use this book to teach their children and grandchildren and thereby preserve Miriwoong for future generations.' (Source: Google books website)
