'Late afternoon, walking a winding road, Luke Hassett is looking for help. He's bogged his ute beside a sandy river, having pulled off down a sidetrack to camp the night. He'd spun the wheels for a hoot. Idiot! He finds a farmhouse and meets Lindsey Hamilton, a petite, feisty, arts student, who's based in Sydney during the week. He also meets her mother, Heather, an out and out beauty; and Seb, a hulking Serbian gypsy who drops in to 'see' Heather from time to time.
'Luke and Lindsey somehow hit it off, and Luke works on the farm; though Lindsey's got it all over him, talking Shakespeare and the like as she questions his intentions.
