BiographyHistory

Wendy Freeman's parents, fleeing the turmoil of India with her three older sisters, arrived in Sydney at the end of 1947. After four years in a migrant settlement at East Hills, they settled in Kingsgrove.

After high school, Freeman completed a degree at Sydney University, followed by teacher training at the old Sydney Teachers’ College. After three years, she left mainstream teaching for and alternate teaching situation – English instruction to eager adults who wanted to ‘make a go of it’ in their new country. Over the past 30 years, she has been quite active in creating and publishing books and lesson materials for this audience.

The Bulldog's Secret is her first children's book.
