The play was advertised as a drama of Australian history, convicts, and transportation, and was both staged (as early as 1904 and as late as 1916) and filmed (in 1911) by E.J. Cole's Bohemian Dramatic Company.
Nothing has so far been traced of the playwright.

The earliest performance that has so far been traced is as part of the Bohemian Dramatic Company's 'Drama Under Canvas' (performed opposite Redfern Station, in Sydney) in early 1904.
