BiographyHistory

Jane Francesca Agnes, also known as Lady Wilde, was an Irish poet, prose writer and suffragist. A supporter of the Young Ireland movement, Agnes contributed the organisation's journal, the Nation under the 'Speranza'.

Some of Agnes's poems were published in Australian colonial newspapers and magazines in the nineteenth century.

Agnes is the mother of Oscar Wilde.
