AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'“For the most wild, yet most homely narrative which I am about to pen, I neither expect nor solicit belief. Mad indeed would I be to expect it, in a case where my very senses reject their own evidence. Yet, mad am I not — and very surely do I not dream!”

He is regarded as one of the greatest writers of all time…but who was he….and who knew him best?

Allow The Poe Burlesque Theatre to take you on a salacious journey into the world of Mr Edgar Allan Poe. Meet the stunning beauties who inspired his work, and the women from his tales who he created with such breathtaking mastery. The show weaves actual letters and writings from Poe himself.

Inspired by the works of the great Edgar Allan Poe, The Poe Burlesque Theatre is a unique company of actors and performers who merge song, burlesque and abstract performance art to bring to life his tales of the macabre, morbid, quirky and often comical.' (Production summary)
