AbstractHistoryArchive Description
This autobiographical narrative refers to a type of tree common in the author's childhood home of Uruguay. The tree is called 'paraíso' in Spanish, which translates into English as 'paradise'. This is most likely the Melia azedarach, a species of the Meliaceae family orginating in Asia but now found worldwide. In this narrative the author comes across one of these trees in Sydney.
