BiographyHistory

Wurega means "to speak" in Wergaia language, the Wurega Aboriginal Corporation was established to advocate and promote respect and understanding in relation to Wotjobaluk Traditional Owners families of the Harradine/Cameron and Skurrie families/other supporting individuals of the sandhill country of the western area of Victoria.

This organisation works to promote culture, lores and customs, art, language and healing through active participation in cultural programs on country. The organisation fully aspire to provide quality and accuracy in our Acknowledgements to Country as we do not speak on behalf of clans that we are not authorised to represent; we wish to be part of education programs and activities to promote genuine relationships with the broader community. Our fledgling business has the support of nine Wotjobaluk Elders and extended family. (Source: Wurega Aboriginal Corporation website)
