BiographyHistory

Kiki van de Laar was a mother of two, originally from the Netherlands. She married her husband Rogier in 2007 and moved to South Australia in 2009. She established a photography business in 2012. In early 2013 van de Laar was diagnosed with breast cancer. In October 2013 she was diagnosed with terminal bone and brain cancer.

Kiki van de Laar died on November 23, 2014, at the age of twenty-seven. Courage Through a Lens: A Breast Cancer Journey visually and textually documents her experience of cancer.
