AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'A frank, beautiful short film based on the book LOVING COUNTRY by Bruce Pascoe and Vicky Shukuroglou, published by Hardie Grant Travel in December 2020.

'This is the story of a place, told through the stories, culture and philosophy of its first people. Bruce Pascoe is a Yuin, Bunurong and Tasmanian man as well as the co-author of LOVING COUNTRY. We shot this film on Yuin Country in Far East Gippsland in Victoria, Australia. Bruce is a custodian of Yuin Country, which at the time of filming was healing from bushfires that began in December 2019 and ended in February 2020. He invites you to share the beauty and the knowledge from the land which was passed on by Yuin Elders. This film and book invites us to truly engage with Aboriginal Country and philosophy. It encourages us to look and listen closely for a fuller, rounder, more complex experience.'
