'Where did 12 years go? Surely it's not that long since I first met Pipp the Puggle and his prickly problem in Aleesah Darlison's very first children's picture book Puggle's Problem. I recall Pipp's story to a class for the first time and championing the puggle's need for patience. Soon after, there was Warambi, the story of the destruction of a bent-wing bat colony and the plight of a displaced bat. Bearly There was in between and then an explosion of books to come that cemented the award-winning and internationally published Aleesah Darlison into the fabric of children's literature in Australia.'
