The"Other"Art That Has Returned : An Interview with Guan Wei, Yu Ouyang (interviewer), Liang Yujing (translator), single work interview
'Guan Wei, born in Beijing in 1957, graduated from Fine Arts of Capital Normal University in 1986 From 1989 to 1993, he was invited as a guest artist by the School of Art of the University of Tasmania, the School of Art of the National University of Canberra and Sydney Center for Modern Art. After that, he was awarded the Australian Government Art Fund for many times, including 2008-2010 The highest honor art fund issued by the Australian government. Established a studio in Beijing in 2008. Since then, he has participated in a number of influential Sino-Australian art exchange activities. Now he lives and works in Beijing and Sydney. Guan Wei's works are in complex symbolic paintings. In the symbols, the duality of today's society and environment is powerfully reflected. His works are the product of his rich cultural reserves, his high attention to society and politics, and his extensive knowledge of art history. Guan Wei has held He has participated in more than 50 solo exhibitions, "The Curse-Guan Wei 2011" at the OCT Contemporary Art Center of He Xiangning Art Museum; at the same time, he was also invited to participate in many important contemporary international art exhibitions, such as the 10th Havana Biennale in 2009.'
