AbstractHistoryArchive Description
'Ragged Disclosures is a prose poetry collection that explores the poetic sequence. It demonstrates how related or repeated tropes, images and themes may be developed and reinflected as sequences unfold and how, in such sequences, recurrent motifs resonate productively between different individual works. The volume highlights the tensions between prose poetry’s compression and brevity and the countervailing tendency for sequential works to invoke the promise of an unfolding narrative arc. The inherent raggedness of the incomplete narrative gestures that result, combined with prose poetry’s tight, closed and suggestive boxes, creates a playful and productive—and quintessentially poetic—indeterminacy.'
