AbstractHistoryArchive Description
'Alice in the Antipathies is the story of Asha, a second -generation Indian diaspora born in Malaysia, who is unable to conform to belong in her cultural setting. In the 1970’s, during a climate welcoming immigration and multiculturalism, Asha moves to Australia to study and eventually settle. Encountering life’s challenges as wife and mother, Asha chooses art as a solace to discover herself and she finds the text of Alice in Wonderland to help find a voice, and through using another’s voice she gains her own.'
