Author's note: This suite of found poems is based on two source texts: The Spare Room (2008) by Helen Garner and a note written on the inside cover of my copy of the book by an ex-lover and ex-friend: J. Almost every line is a direct quotation from one of the two texts – the words in bold are my own.
It might break your heart a little but sometimes I think that’s what love should do. (2010 ~ J)
This poem is in five numbered and titled parts.
