Note: Epigraph: "His Excellency the Governor will leave Queensland by way of the northern ports. Before doing so he will visit various towns in the central and northern districts, then travel via Cairns to Thursday Island, arriving at the latter port on October 23. He will make his last public appearances in Brisbane on Saturday, and will leave Brisbane on Monday at 9.30 p.m. He proposes to pay a visit to Hong-Kong and Japan before going to England."
