'I'm home for the summer and we spend a couple days driving north, through the Nevadan desert. The tremors in Dad's right arm have grown worse since I saw him two years ago. Dad is driving, but really it's a toss-up: we are both a poor choice of driver. His condition worsens in this desert heat and under stress, but he makes me too nervous to drive. He's always commenting on my speed, or staring at me pointedly to take the next exit.'
