  • Currents of Feminism

Hecate publishes articles and editorials that specifically distinguish between feminism's different currents. Feminist theories and frameworks that are prevalent in Hecate include socialist, radical, Marxist, materialist feminism, and also those concerned with sexual liberation. To clarify the spectrum of feminism present in left or progressive Australian culture, Hecate distinguishes between forms of feminism within academic writing and art. Hecate also represents how the notion of feminism is commonly misrepresented or misunderstood in the Australian socio-cultural sphere.
