The QCPA, established in 1908, is the representative industry organisation for rural, country and regional non-daily newspapers in Queensland.

Some QCPA archival material is also held at the National Library of Australia and the State Library of Queensland.

A history of the QCPA was written by Rod Kirkpatrick in 2008: "Purposely parochial: 100 years of the Country Press in Queensland".
