History

The aim of the Australian Film Critics Association Film Writing Awards is to raise the level of film culture in Australia by recognizing the work of Australian film critics and film commentators and to broaden public awareness of film as an art form and cultural artifact...[The Film Awards mark the] recognition by AFCA members of outstanding work in the areas of Australian film, foreign language film, documentary, directing, acting and screenplay.
