'Mothermorphosis is a one woman, one chicken pastiche performance art piece that deconstructs Motherhood. Inspired by Kafka's Metamorphosis, Liz Stitch unpacks the taboos and challenges of transforming from a woman, into a mother. Comedic, dynamic and honest, Mothermorphosis combines intimate confessional and absurdist physical theatre with soundscape. The artist formerly known as Liz Skitch, now known to all as 'mother of two', is accompanied by the voices of generations of mothers, and takes the stereotypical notion of a 'smooth and easy' transition into motherhood and blows it apart.'

The story unfolds as night falls and Lily, whose family has just moved house, tries to go to sleep. With the challenges of change, including being in a new house, in a new room and starting at a new school, Lily has lots on her mind. It's no wonder she can't get to sleep. 'The Swagman, inspired by his beloved Banjo Paterson, sets out to stage the history of Australia. However, his troupe of clowns have ideas of their own. Together they attempt to stage all of the defining chapters in Australian history—from Gallipoli to the Sydney Olympics, and from Ned Kelly to Kylie Minogue.
