'Hope Junction is the essence of Outback Australia, a town rich in spirit but facing economic problems and declining population. The over-the-top characters are immediately recognisable and could be found in any country town as they struggle to implement their grand plans.

The book, loaded with humanity, tells of upright citizens brimming with pride, yet tempered by scandal and theft.

Isabel Tuck wrote the story as stress relief for her husband at the time of his retirement from academic life.

While Hope Junction is a light read, it thoughtfully deals with a major social problem facing country communities.' (Publisher's blurb)

Here Adam is master, interacting with his animal friends - Gordon the goanna, Kevin Wombat and Blimp, the blue-tongued lizard - and even sometimes blitzing the pirate, Captain Custard. As well as about play, Adam's Garden is also about purpose. The book successfully reaches into a hospital bed, lightening the load of a sick child and anxious parents. Adam's Garden shows us the magic of imagination by transporting us to any place we choose.'-- Back cover.

Sandy, a cattleman committed to the land, his God and family, builds a homestead and seeks to set up a dairy operation on two hundred acres amongst the coastal ridges. During the winter months when the herd dried off he sought off-farm income returning to cattle buying and horse breaking. Cattle are mustered in the morning mists and there is description of the historic pig drive down the Dorrigo Mountain pass. These stories written as letters to my father who is in nursing care, move close to nature reflecting humour as well as anguish as he toiled in "God's World".' (Back cover)
