She manages to insult a war veteran, the bus driver and her preschool teacher in a series of verbal assaults that turn her life inside out. Her parents' solution is to take her to a psychiatrist - the seriously weird Ivan Roobottom. Nicky realises he's even more in need of help than she is! Life gets increasingly complicated for Nicky, until she is suspended from school. She doesn't have any answers for her behaviour - until she is told her godmother is coming to stay. Nicky didn't even know she had one of those! At long last she has a clue as to the cause of all her troubles."
